I have deleted the original images for the sake of keeping the thread turning it a bunfight .... IMHO i would agree with Rogers comments about a modicum of privacy and seeking the owners permission to plaster them over the net , if it was at a car show etc then fair game ... As a picture can paint a very interesting prospect to any burglars ... Unless you have five or six shitters tucked away and pray for em to get pilfered ... And I know Pete and don't think he would be too impressed either

And I only asked a polite question as to what the forum's policy was on this matter and expressed my opinion. Is there some problem with that?

Sorry to have obviously wasted your time

May be less of a problem in NorthAyrshire than it is in the Home Counties area where one can use Motorways to quickly get around, lawfully or otherwise .
Having said that I have been told by a 'Government Official', after a few drinks, that many of the motorways in England now have Registration recognition cameras on all the slip roads and overhead gantries, so somebody is watching, in theory ( makes you wonder why all these stolen vehicles aren't picked up quickly
I suppose the numerous difficulties I have with no garage(s) attached/on the site of the house ( garages for the houses - very early 1960s, are in a block together, 60 meters from the houses), gives me a slight advantage as which one of the block of 20 garages do my cars reside in. Disadvantage is they can never be quite so secure, even though you have to pass my house going to/from garages.
I'd prefer my reg. not to be on display, but hey I'm not too hung up about it, but my cars are much less desirable than a Ur.

I DID say where am I gonna put these pictures up and I know that, as I wouldn't take pictures without asking or explaining as I think it would be rude not to, unless it was taken from a public place. I don't know if he just miss-heard me or couldn't understand.. I'll ask him when I'll go past him sometime. I know SOME of the people would prefer their plates not to be shown on the internet. But bloody hell! I think that hell of a lot more people going past that place can see his car parked up next to his garage with his number plates visible, garage doors wide open, etc, than just a few members on this forum...! And I bet there's more pictures taken from random people of that car or any of our cars and are posted somewhere on the internet that we don't even know about. Come on, people...

If my wife was in the back for a 100 miles then I would find a loud exhaust quite tolerable

Don't forget to cover the number plates before you do - there's thieves everywhere When I'll finish restoring my quattro, I'm gonna dig a hole and burry it just in case they will see my number plates and try to steal it.
