The 2.5 5 pot tdi has a habit (apparently) of jumping a tooth.

But they are capable of legendary mileages.

Suspension n associated bushes will be past their best then! Previous owner of mine had all of them done. Forgot to add, mine needed a track rod end for the MOT....

Almost bought a Bora some years ago, but from memory rear legroom is no better in that than A4 so bought the 1998 Passat, that was a brill car too once sloppy suspension chucked.

Had both. Bora is no different to a Golf and I have no probes with a 15 ur old, a 5 and 4 ur old in the back. Only used as a local hack n when I have to park in a multi storey, as we've an A4 TDi 140 Avant Sportline, a Golf GT TDi 150 n something VERY exciting on the way. Boras are cheap because none usually looks for one.....

At 6'3" and long legged the A4 and Bora seat travel is all the way back and Ellen (7 at the time) complained bitterly when I tried the Bora, and if we use the A4 to drive anywhere, Lynn has to drive to give more rear legroom
Strangely though there is twice as much leg room behind the drivers seat in my Cq than any of my present cars. Guess that's progress for you

Agree. 5 pot 2.5 in the early A6 was a fantastic engine especially in 140bhp form Loads of room in these cars too

Wink

Jonathan, who works as THE Audi Specialist at my wifes garage just of J29 of the M1 is an absolute guru. His own cars are a testament to him, his work and his knowledge, but judge for yourself.

See below link to him on AudiFans;
