Hell everyone,
I have recently bought a rough old 100 to restore and have come undone with trying to replace or repair the ATE brake master cylinder. I looked up the numbers and none match what was on the car. See pics attached Please help as I'm at the stage of giving up. |

I'd say you need to be forthcoming with a little more info-
http://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+100...6/611-53000/#1 This lists 6 options of cylinder, of which 5 also show as LHD.

Unfortunately I can't work that out. It doesn't seem to be written on it or my likely it's beyond me haha.
What I can read is: Top front: 25ZV Top back: 03 Underside: 111/12 & 06 87 & (symbol) 17 - see above attached photo. Back: (pressed/stamped) 08186G |

I'd have a chat with Peter Reeve/quattrocorner, if the local dealership(if there is one) can't help.
By its format, I'd guess the number 08186G might be ATE's number.

But that would make it a 23.8 bore which will be wrong.
I'd expect a 25.4mm master cylinder on this car. The 25ZV would appear to back this up. 0687 is the month of manufacture Have you tried contacting ATE in Germany. They're usually very helpful

Thanks chaps. All good thoughts and help there. It is much appreciated and welcomed.
I have had word back from ATE who are all too happy to help, which is nice! The suggested solution is to replace my original ATE 03.2125-2711.3 (discontinued part - not even on classic catalog) with ATE 03.2125-3210.3 (or for short ATE 010212 or for VAG 441 611 021 with or without the A after con't tell the difference other than car model). The problem is that the FL measurement of my old ATE 03.2125-2711.3 is 14mm (ish/approx) and the newer with ATE 03.2125-3210.3 has an FL of 36mm. So at the bottom of the email with no explanation are further part numbers. I assume this is part of the adaption kit. The following parts number and names are: Zwishenstuck (aka intersection/intermediate piece) VAG 443 611 105 Flansch (aka flange/compensating piece) VAG 853 612 129. Can we assume that this is now resolved? |

Yes - I think you use a spacer to take up the difference.
