umm - sometimes it's " better the devil you know " ??
There's a lot wrong with the EU but there's also a lot wrong with several other options, ( see above Scotland issue for one.) Government seems to get distracted very easily. The British Steel pension fund issue seems to have gone quiet? Government wants to change the scheme? How about finding out why there's a hole and vigorously chasing those 'guilty' e.g. Tata not been putting money in ? Take shortfall out of the 'grants' we give India. Why the hell are we giving them money anyway, they have a space programme etc etc so they should be using THAT money for their other issues not getting it from us ?? They are talking about new legislation for heavier sentences for driving deaths. Why ? Because the average sentence is just over four years. BUT the current legislation allows up to 14 years jail. So the problem is in the Courts not the Legislation so stand up and tell the Judges to do better , or else, not waste more time and money in Parliament ! Grrrr Farage at least stirs it all up. My wife used to have to go to a meeting every couple of months, bosses there to 'advise' what should be done and by when ( ususally silly deadlines but hey....) . There was always a chap like Farage there, right 'trouble maker' but boy - did he keep the boss and several local Councillors on their toes each time. I think Boris may be a bit like that but ....not sure I'd want him as PM !! Last edited by ChrisG; 27-05-16 at 04:02 PM. |

Funnily enough, in regards to the tata situation and government wanting to "one off" change pension rules, in will be the eu court that can overturn that, protecting the old British steel pensioners, I wonder how that will sway their vote ?

Yeah, agreed. Plus I'd much rather if the vast sums of our money that gets wasted on jollies for bureaucrats was put to good use helping the poor people who wash up on the shores of Greece escaping God only knows what horrors. |

I've decided after much deliberation that due to a shonky deal on a (R)S2 which wasn't quite as described by the (close to) Brussels seller, that I'll likely vote to leave the EU!
The car, I'll make good! |

I'm 100% for voting out. I have had this opinion on the EU for many, many years long before mass immigration hit the fan. It's because I'm British. Like most Brits, I will NOT be dictated to. We have created a democracy in this country and it's the envy of the world. The EU hates democracy and this has been made very clear by the scowling faces of the leaders of the other 27 EU members and the whole EU machine that we are daring to have a referendum on membership. In their eyes we should simply do as we are told.
It is said that the younger generation are key in this referendum. Due to the politically correct tripe they get spoon-fed in school, most think the EU is good for us and any reference to immigration must be countered with shrieks of 'racism'. It's a shame they don't appreciate the phrase 'You reap what you sow'. Vote to remain and keep mass immigration because EU law dictates it. This means the probability of being successful in getting a job gets worse. If you are successful the probability of it having a decent wage also gets worse. Based on the simple law of Supply & Demand the availability of somewhere to rent gets worse, and if somewhere does come up it will be prohibitively expensive. As regards actually buying somewhere to live.... forget it! If the younger generation tip the balance and the result is to remain, when all the above comes to pass (which to an extent it is already) they can sit down and reflect on how they voted and how stupid and naive they were. I hope the 23rd June is the day the Empire Strikes Back! Alan |

We went into the common market for trade , not for all the crap that's evolved and will carry on . Voting to stay in because you are frightened of change and better the devil you know is pathetic as for starters you don't know which WA I will go if we stay in , well we do .... More of the same plus some
