Yes I do

Is it hydraulic tappets or solids as one of the manifolds has an air feed on it..

Hydraulic. Which is yours for? WHat I want to do is to swap my 1.6 DT engine for a 1.8DZ engine, but keep it on the Weber carb (simpler for me!).

I could swap the existing manifold over onto the DZ head (and block up the injector holes with pennies), but I'd rather minimize the time the car is out of action.

1.6 with 75 bhp to 1.8 should get me 90-95bhp probably (1.8 from the GL is 90bhp, but the DZ has a better head I think). Not much more power, but should make it more useful.

ALso got better front brakes to go on, to make it stop better.

And what are u going to do with with bigger intake paths - are u shure that carb manifold will close it?

Pretty sure about it.

My mate fitted a Golf GTI head onto his 1.8 carb engine (presumably same as the 1.8GL engine), and fitted his carb manifold to it.

I think it is the valves that are bigger, not necessarily the inlet holes.
