I have ordered a spax -60mm kit and to go with this I am going to purchase new top mounts and a full front and rear powerflex kit - problem is, there are different bushes! So which bush do I go for?
... !The car is a 1982 type 81 Audi 80 CL - the differences are... Front arm, is it alloy? or steel? And are the anti-roll bar bushes 24 or 25mm? As it is not a sport model and has the 1.6 carb engine, I would guess that the roll bar is narrower (so 24mm) and the front arm is steel? Does anyone know this? Or know where I could find out? Cheers Jon |

Well as far as I can see the anti-roll bar its self is 21mm in diameter part number 811411309A
Cars with power steering from 1982 are 22mm and a different sort, there is a connecting link arm (sort of drop arm from the bar to the wish bone) so I would go out and measuer yours just to see what you have.. And yes the front arms are steel.. ..

my 1986 80CL roll bar is 21mm, my 86 80 Sport roll bar is 22mm WITHOUT the drop links.
I have a 1986 90 roll bar which has drop links and is 24mm I think, but definitely more than 22mm. Front arm is steel (have a quick look and it will look like it is made from folded steel sheet, which it is. I would go for poly bushes for the front wishbones and rear trailing arm but go for standard roll bar bushes. Are Powerflex back in business, they had a fire in late November 2009????? Don't forget bump stops too, they need to be shorter (poly or cut down standard ones) |
