stuartmmcfc 01-07-11 04:16 PM

its a clue

we've no idea!

Coxy 01-07-11 04:18 PM

what 'sound' does a sardine make?!!!!!!!! Probably none!!

Sardine, squashed/packed like sardines???????

Is it a place in the UK?

stuartmmcfc 01-07-11 04:20 PM

could be anywhere but the majority have been in uk

Coxy 01-07-11 04:34 PM

Sadine is a Pilchard and part of the Herring family. My guess is it may be something along the lines of packed line Sardines.
Packed, crammed

bear*, bunch, bundle, chock, cluster, congest, congregate, cram, crush, deluge, elbow, flock, gather, huddle, jam*, justle, load, mass, mob, muster*, overcrowd, pack, pack like sardines, pack ‘em in, pile, push*, ram, sardine , shove, squash, squeeze*, squish, stream, stuff*, surge, swamp, swarm, throng, top off, troop

not much use am I!!!!!!

4v6 01-07-11 04:39 PM

Donkey- hee haw.

I think Morocco is the biggest producer.

I was thinking of a badly pronounced Sartene in the south of the island.

Right, you've had 24 hours, so what was the answer in the back of today's paper?

stuartmmcfc 02-07-11 10:53 PM

Believe it or not my neighbour is a member ofthe local WI and its a quiz comp' shes been given,
There were 4 she couldn't do and knowing my Wife is a bit "educated" she asked me if I could give them to her to have a look at (NOT me you notice:))
The "sardine "one was the only one she couldn't do, but when I know the answer (next week i think) I'll let you know.
Try to get some sleep until then Ian

ps aren't you at the festival of speed this weekend?

Hanuman 04-07-11 10:19 PM

Presumably, this is a crossword?
Can we have the letters that have been found?
Is that the full clue?

Lots of sleepless nights have occurred.

Oh, the madness...

Coxy 04-07-11 10:31 PM

to try and work out how they are thinking, can you put up a few of the others with the solutions?

Oh, the madness...

Absolutely Mark, we assume it's a Wimmin's institute 'puzzle' so we're into the 'simplicity' zone... But unfortunately the 'clues provided' have been desperately vague...

Hence the relentless harassment until an answer/clue or whatever is given.;)

Yours,

in anticipation....

Bricktop.

Hanuman 04-07-11 10:54 PM

Ah, buggrit....

Wimmins clues...

Like directions, such as left and right; abstracts in the extreme!

answer then=

on toast?

I'm going to have to go round to the neighbours to find out if the answers have been given out yet!
Oh the shame, I wish I'd never asked:o

stuartmmcfc 05-07-11 08:09 AM

31st of July before it closes!!!!!

The only clues i can give is its place names, not neccesarily in UK, and its a cryptic quiz ie if the clue was "Expect to get your wheels nicked" the answer would be "liverpool"
