If you visit the S2forum with an open wallet, it could cost you thousands!
As already said, they are very tuneable, and can be got up to nearly 300bhp without too much effort. After that, get yer credit card out!
Finding a low mileage standard one nowadays is getting very hard, as a lot of have have already had something done to them. Which has it's plus sides as it saves you forking out £000's if the work has already been done!
Much prefer an S2 over an STi!

Agree totally, One thing you'll notice is how much better engineered the S2's are. Both mechanically and interior finish. Only poor area was the rear hatch on the coupes. 300bhp is plenty for these busy UK police camera obsessed roads.

The S2 is a superb car. A little less involving that the quattro, but a fabulous drive nethertheless.

I did have an Avant last year, and was looking at possibly getting another S2 to supplement the quat again. But lately Audi's attitute to their older (and proper!) cars has pissed me right off. That and the dealers never knowing what the hell the car is, some insisting that it didn't even exsist!

That's where resources like the S2 Forum come into their own. Loads of advice, recommendations and suggestions which are essential to ownership of these cars today.

I'll just have the one Audi for now though. Pete Reeve's little scare the other week convinced me that it's probably the right move!

Drove an S2 as a daily car for more than 7 years. Very capable car and big miles are not a problem

Had a lot of experience with S2's, they are fantastic cars. 300bhp in an S2 is worth more in a "normal" car as they have so much useable torque. Brilliant car in my opinion and very underrated in their time.
Just don't get over excited with turbo size if you upgrade it. S2's have great torque from very low revs, a load of lag on a road car can spoil it's useability.

BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!!!
