Default Anyone on here own a C6 RS6?

Evening all,

Had the opportunity these last few days to take a few high performance cars out for a test drive. First an e90 M3 manual with remus exhaust, then a C63 and then yesterday an RS6 avant.

The M3 felt much nicer to drive than I was expecting it to, was a lovely place to be, partly helped by the interior being very similar to my 530d just smaller!

The C63 personally I think has a shocking dash area but it sounded as good as the m3 on a standard exhaust.

Then the RS6 just blew those two out of the water. Yes I know it's the next notch up on performance cars so was always going to be but I hadn't expected to feel so special whilst driving it. The performance is quite frankly ludicrous and even though giving it some welly and then being stuck in traffic coming back it managed 15mpg (shocking I know but considering the drive I didn't think it was too bad!)

So I was wondering if anyone else on here has experience of them? I've looked on RS246 and a few other sites and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with few apparent issues.

I'm off to look at one with cash in my hand tomorrow so any thoughts tonight would be greatly appreciated!!

Now, anyone want a fast (not rs6 fast!) but efficient 530d touring?!

Simply stunning always been a huge RS6 fan. Been very very close to a c5 for a long time but the running costs quite frankly scare the shit out of me!! I know all the weak points on a c5 but know very little of the c6 so I would be interested to know what you know!? I have a A6 3L TDI Quattro Le Mans in a saloon 58 plate and is the best car I have ever had economical and very fast more pics please lol!!

Well the good news is it's already been to MRC with invoices and maps to prove. 700 bhp thank you very much!

Drove 120 miles home last night and averaged 26.3mpg, mainly due to four sections of 50 mph road on the M3 and driving an obscenely powerful car on unfamiliar roads.

How does it drive? Phenominal in a word.

Docile at low town speeds and a comfortable cruiser but it constantly feels like 'an excited puppy on a lead' as my wife perfectly summed it up. It's when you bury the throttle that it comes alive and its ability to pick up speed is like nothing I've ever driven (which includes 911 GT2, rx7 twin turbo, S6, E90 m3, AMG SL55 etc). In fact it's the only car I've physically laughed out loud when driving!

I did a fair bit of research on these cars and they're night and day between these and the C5. No known issues to date, so as long as I keep up the preventative maintenance and do things like let the oil temp get up before ragging it that should help.

I've got another long drive this weekend to Plymouth on roads I know like the back of my hand so I'll have a better idea then but so far it's overwhelmingly positive.

Oh and the sound when it fires up from cold could wake the dead - finally something to rival my neighbours 1100cc bike that he fires up at 5.45 each morning!

Liking that a lot, Dave. A lot of car (and BHP) for the money.

sounds perfect, good economy as well, I was talking to DK on Audi SRS when he had his C6 (it was MRC'd as well) and he decided he was going to sell it because it could obliterate any car on the road... I still don't see that as a good reason to sell, lol

But then he bought an R8 and Twin Turbo'd it... I would have stuck with the RS6 personally, nice choice you made there!

After a brief search I found out what was causing all that noise:
