cold vibrations

So on my 1984 4000s with the 1.8 fuel injected with an auto trans. When its cold and I start it up and put it in gear it has a bad vibration but only when I am stopped. After it warms up it still dose it but not as bad but only when its in gear and I am stopped at a stop lite. I often put it in neutral until I get the green to go so it wont shake me to death.I have replaced all the sensors just not the cold start senser because it the most expensive. Any ideas on what it mite be

Lumpy running as you have described it, sounds like its fuel mixture.
I've no idea on the 1.8 engine, specifically, but in my case, a combination of bad coolant temperature sensor connections, and bad lambda probe caused the engine to run frequently very rich. That's on a 1991 V8, though.
I'd be thinking mixture, though.

I guess that being in gear is a bit misleading, as it's the auto box, and torque converter simply not responding well to the lumpy idle.

What about idle? Is there anything which controls or senses when the throttle is closed, and the car is idling?
(Again- I know next to buggah all about the I.8.)
