Default lack of heat

Ive put up with this since ive got my 85 cq a year ago. Lukewarm heater. When its a frosty morning it takes ages to demist the windows because the heater is only mildly warm, never gets hot like my old coupe.

Theres no radiator or hose leaks, does anyone have any suggestions.

Many thanks

I would check the valve that lets the hot water through is opening fully , how hot are the heater hoses, check the thermostate

Ive replaced the thermostat, no change, the hoses are nice and hot when the engines warm.

Thanks for that. Will look at it next weekend. What prompted me to ask is the prospect of an artic blast later this week

If both the hoses into the heater matrix are hot where they enter the bulkhead the the matrix could be blocked.

possible air lock in the matrix, slacken one of the hoses going into the matrix at the bulk head, remember to do this cold!! start the car and remove the hose till the coolant/water flows through, then replace and tighten, make sure heat is on full position... happened a lot on my B2s
