Hi, I have a 1990 Coupe Quattro 20v, what engine oil would you recommend. The engine is the 7A with 143k done. Regular driving style, doing approx 20-30 miles daily.

Hi
A 10w-40 is ideal for your car. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-657-10w-40.aspx The best ones are the Gulf Competition, Motul 300V, Redline and Millers CFS. As a cheaper alternative the Fuchs Syn MC, Shell HX7, Motul 6100 and Millers XSS/Trident are good choices. Cheers Tim |

What would you suggest for the 1986 5 cilinder KV-engine 2.2 liter 10 valves. Has about 130 000 miles on the clock.
Compression values are all spot on; 11,5/12 bar |

Hi
I'd probably use a 10w-40 http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-657-10w-40.aspx The best ones are the Gulf Competition, Motul 300V, Red Line and Millers CFS. As a cheaper alternative the Fuchs Syn MC, Shell HX7, Gulf Tec Plus, Motul 6100 and Millers XSS/Trident are good choices. Cheers Tim |

I recently read a thread on the forum here about an oil which actually bonds at a molecular level to the metal parts, what do you think of this? Do you recommend this type of oil?

Hi
Ester based oils cling to metal surfaces, so offer the best protection from cold, as well as all round. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-953-ester-synthetic.aspx We often recommend them for performance engines or where someone wants the best for their car. Cheers Tim |
