Hi Guys,
My brother bought this car; http://www.classic-audi.co.uk/forum/...ad.php?t=28122 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVegO...ature=youtu.be Don't know if there's any pics still on the gumtree link but it was the dark blue 1987 Audi 90 Quattro 2.2 10v with the zender kit and the 17" bbs rs reps. It has lowering springs but by the looks of it the shocks are standard so subsequently its a bit bouncy and the tyres are scrubbing in the arches. I was wondering about upgrading just the shocks and wondered what shocks and where from? Also What are you guys running in your 90's? Any thoughts welcome! Cheers, Leigh |

Seeing those wheels it's hardly any surprise that tyres are scrubbing arches. Bilstein B6-es might be stiff enough, but they are a bit expensive, and in the end your brother might end up changing springs as well - after all, shocks are supposed only to slow down wheel movement. I wouldn't fit such shocks to my car because I want comfortable ride, but anyone having such wheels obviously aren't concerned about any comfort.

l should have said that the wheels are now BBS RS reps 17" x 7.5J up front with 17" x 8J on the back with 215 / 40 / 17's......I think
But you're right when running 17's on a low B3 then unless you have decent (hard) suspension then you are going to get scrubbing I suppose..... |

In this case size isn't what matters - it's the wheel width and offset. I guess my B4 Aero's with 195/65/R15 wheels in circumference should be around the same than yours, but I can't really complain about tyre scrubbing - I experienced it once when I managed to drive into gradual but deep pothole while doing 90 degree turn at some speed, but that was with really crappy shocks.
