Default wr quattro tie rod/steering rod

Evening all.
After removing the tie rod/steering rod off the suspension strut to renew the cv boot. I noticed the ball joint to be a bit "floppy" just wondering if anyone knows where to get new tie rod/steering arm(s) (other side probably needs doing as well) for 87 wr
Ta very much

These are now in very short supply, they have for several years been on the NLA list indeed I'm not sure that Pete hasn't run out of stock for one side.

Thanks for replies fellas.
Can't seem to find any, so how are you all managing when your track rod end fails?

Well still no luck with this!
Its been 2 weeks on axle stands now.... taxed... mot'd...insured... and the suns out! but no Quattro is out

I have phoned, emailed, even bought 2 orders from suppliers saying they had them, only to be cancelled, saying they didnt, and having to send one back, as they didnt know the difference between back and front ( sems like theres plenty of back ones about)
Even a classic part specialist in Germany said he ha done, until I asked him to check, due to the run around I have been having.... guess what, yep look like they are not the ones either.

So i got a perfectly good ur Quattro, that cant go anywhere because theres not tie rods for it!
So how many ur's lft on the road? We will all need tre's sometime soon!

Of course there's plenty of rear ones available yet. The only reason why UR front ones differs from the rest of B series is 10v turbo engine under the bonnet - while obviously there is no 10v turbo engine at the back of the car, so rear suspension could remain identical

If you're unable to get new ones or get them refurbished [I guess in the west suspension parts aren't refurbished and goes straight to scrap], you have two options left - first, get ordinary ones from any B2/B3/B4, left one will fit straight, right one will have to be bent or it won't clear exhaust, or, second, you can buy these expensive tie rods from 034 motorsport, which is basically the same stuff, only they have already bent the right one for you.

P.S. I'm wondering why this one won't fit the UR.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply & link
Im not sure what to do with the adjusting sleeve?
Why Im not sure is because, I need to replace the ends, ie. track rod ends/ball joint. The passenger side arm is the only one with adjustment, (near steering rack bulhead end. the ends are solid pressed in.) The driver arm has no adjustment on it at all, just bolted to the rack, and the ball joint end into strut.

Any suggestions?
Cheers

Audi tradition are selling the right side

http://trshop.audi.com/konakart/Sele...ROD&model=0001

They also sell a lhd left side. If it's just the end part you need, that could be swapped over
