Just been trapped in house since friday, 8 feet snow drifts, no power, no phone... Cooking on the coal fire. Friday seems like a month ago. Great depression scenario in the town here. Cut off totally, no food, jesus h crick! We take our normal lives for granted. Farmers and a local construction company dug us a road out yesterday, thank fk for the boys with the tonka toys. A lot of people would have died otherwise, power guys couldn't get in to fix anything, council gear all stuck in ditches, could have been another catrina. But were we on the news? Probably not! Forgotten. So much for organisation, and thank fk for SMEs.

think- organise- do.

Unbelievable that the government cant do this.

this comes down to educated stupidity look at my qualifications this means i can over complicate a situation and pretend i am smart, look i evan have letters after my name. doctors excluded they are just let down by the aforementioned winkle sniffers

You get the drift.. har har. 12 hours of snow, 24 hours of bulldozers and 48 hours of melting later, and that's what's left of it. It's all dropped a good two feet since yesterday.
Not much stops and audi allroad, but.... emm.. this did! lol. Wasn't the snow, or wind, or cold that was the problem, it was the no electricity, no phone and everything, like spare coal supply, buried under six feet of the stuff. No time to prepare. Some small houses are buried! God knows about animals, haven't talked to anyone yet, but no doubt there will be casualties.

Buried house.. must have dug their way out, then added a decorative arch to their new garden feature! That's it melted! Must have been well up the roof!

Road to ooor hoose! Nae chance, as they say in Scottish. I did try but ploughed straight into the first drift. Then spent two hour digging the feker out, lol.

Can't remember what that signpost says, haha! But thought it was funny..

Out side our front door! Doesn't normally look like that after 12 hours of snow!

Audi shaped hole... in broad daylight as it was still coming down.. two hours after overestimating the abilities of quattro.. haha! Was fun though.. Didn't make it to the shop.. made it about 30m from the front door.

Melting now.. sort of.. buy a generator if you have overhead power lines.. buy a generator.

One thing though, this thing always sat too low at the back end, like the back airbags were one height setting below the front. Fixed now!

Battered the hell out of it and now it works properly!

ESP off, gun it, pretty amazing thing for the money, only car on the road apart from tractors and monster trucks! Passed some guys who were pi**ing themselves laughing at me coming along the road at them. Bet they were thinking here comes a quattro.. or here comes an idiot, one of the two.

Plenty of them!

Going to a funeral tomorrow. Big cat fish I bought the other half for her 21'st birthday (she doesn't like to think so, but she'll be 40 in a few years). Tough old catfish froze to death yesterday afternoon, just before the power came back on, dropped the ball in a way, just couldn't heat water on the fire quick enough to save the old sod.
