Default School closures...

..continuing with a comment I made on Facebook earlier

So, why are so many schools closed exactly? These decisions by teachers or the powers that be have probably cost British Industry millions Friday and today. There's a bit of snow on the ground....wow! It's not an excuse for kids to have the day off and play in it! It's not an excuse to close schools down and hundreds of working parents forced to take a day of work, many of them losing pay in the process... as you were!

That’s health and safety for ya ,going By our standards people who live in countries with snow should be thick as planks .no schools or work how they would get on

some peoples attitude makes me laugh when you get a bit of snow.
I had a driver who'd managed to get from the Midlands up to Scotland and then on the ferry to Belfast, drop off his car, get 2 miles to his collection in Belfast then back on to the ferry to Stranraer for another drive back South and another driver who lives just down the road from him couldn't even get from Walsall to bloody Wolverhampton to get his car delivered!

An age culture more than anything.

Bloody crazy, I heard up in Ayrshire the schools won't let the kids out if it snows so they're trapped in the building for about six hours, until they go home! They all go mental! When I was at school the teachers couldn't wait to kick our ar*es out the door.

that's cos they either can't drive properly, or they can't be arsed to make the effort to either walk or do something about it in the first place!

The lane down to ours is on the side of a hill and is pretty bad to be fair, and my wife had to be at work for 03:30 this morning, so I spent an hour and a half gritting the entire lane so she could get to work. Not difficult, just required a bit of effort and 4 bags of rock salt!
Journey took her 7 minutes longer than normal for a 25 mile drive.

Different generation where people look out of the window and just take the easy option!
