When you look at the styling on the 200T you suddnley realise just how boring and samey the modern stuff is.
It may be technically miles away from todays cars but id rather have that than almost any of the more modern cars...mondeo anyone?

I do love it but the fuel economy is dreadful - I suspect it is worst out of all Audi's ever made??? I Do admit that there way a bit of a fuel leak until recently but even so...

Lovely stuff Randall!
I have a soft spot for the original 200 too. Especially the 5T, as it was my first introduction at close quarters to a real Audi, and particulary the I5 engine.
A guy at the place where I had a Saturday/holiday job many years ago had one. I remember it was an auto in metallic gold and I just loved the look and sound of the beast!

I also remember that I tried to keep up with it once in my Chavalier He pulled away significantly, but was so busy looking at me disappearing in his rear view mirror that he saw a slowing car up ahead a little too late and smacked into it, after an impressive smoking slide! I don't know who was more gutted, me or him! But, he soon repaired the (minimal) damage.

Sorry for the ramble there, that brochure pic just brought back a few memories!

Well I haven't been much faster than 49.6mph! Great story about the 200 crash - it's the kind of thing that will happen to me one day - I spend too long looking in my rear view mirror.

Funnily enough a nice sounding old chap phoned me who has a mint Gobi 200 5E in his garage (on carpet) - he had a heart attack a while back and so wants to sell it...
