Sat in a brand new Grey road car in 84 at John Harrisons. £34000... That would have bought a housing estate back then!!

At the tender age of just 15, John Harrisons Managing Director Rodney Ridgeway, took me out for a 20 odd mile spin in that one!!

Was invited to the open evening with a friend who had bought a couple of new 205GTI's from them. (An early A reg 105brake model & later a C reg which was the first of a handfull of JH's in house 1900cc conversions.)
Shortly after said open evening, I wrote Mr Ridgeway a Jim'll Fix It type letter & was subsequently invited over for a test drive

Their turbo 16 was the first one to come into the UK. It's still here & with it's 3rd owner.
It was initially up at the list price of £26000. Over the two years that it sat in the showroom it steadily crept up to £34000 if not higher. I may be mistaken, but didn't it end up around the 40k plus mark???

Ever since then, if I could have just one car.....

8 to 10 yrs ago, they where commanding circa £35k. Around 4 yrs ago, they'd shot up to circa £50k. Currently £70k plus & getting ever further out of my reach

I'm currently trying to make a log all the turbo 16's in the UK. I currently know of six by reg number. B322GGC makes it seven.

This 8th one appeared last week
