Default Toyo tyre question

The R888's are road legal in this country. They are "E marked", which I believe is a requirement.

Is this "E" a European standard / approval?

Anyone know if they are road legal in Europe (more specifically, Germany)?

From Toyo.de

Der Proxes R888 erfüllt die Anforderungen der ECE Regulierung (E Kennung), er kann somit im normalen Straßenverkehr gefahren werden.

(Google) translated:
The Proxes R888 meets the requirements of ECE regulation (E code), it can thus be driven under normal road conditions.

The short answer: Yes...

FYI.. I read some dude took his RS6 on R888's from Malmö (Sweden) to Nürburgring, did a number of laps, drove the car home and ditched the now bald tyres... ;-)

Don't expect them to last as long as normal street tyres.

Or take a long drive, drive enthusiasticly through the mountain roads and by the time you do your warm up laps at the nurburgring and are ready to set a good time, you'll have slick tyres

Thanks Soren, that's reassuring to know .

We have used the triple 8's on the rally car for a few years now and they just about last a season of hillclimbs and sprints, with a trackday thrown in at the end of year.
In terms of mileage, it's probably in the hundreds, but those miles are nearly all on the limit .

The car gets trailered to the events, as will be the case for Germany. Just wanted to make sure the tyres were street legal before dragging it all the way there with them on .

Thanks again for the information Soren.
