I just went to list a car on Pistonheads and it appears that they have withdrawn the free ad.
It just gives two options now, trade price or private price of £9.99. I fear they may have shot themselves in the foot there as peeps will not pay and move somewhere else...Doh!

spot on there. Who the hell would list there when autotrader and ebay have almost infinitely more footfall.
Shame really but that's what happens sometimes, silly decision. Lets hope they realise before its too late

I have just listed a '95 coupe and the wifes '52 cabby in the free ad section last night with no problems whatsoever. Might be a good idea to try again

Ebay has an reputation for "chancers" both buying and selling. However there do seem a lot of decent cars advertised on autotrader nowdays where it used to be only for"mondeo man", I dont know what their rates are though. |

remember the olden days when they sent a photographer out to your house then you waited for the magazine/paper to come out in the shops..? i'm sure they charged about £60+ aswell for it! (autotrader) its probably cheaper now than it was 15 years ago.

and I listed a car last week on PH and it was a FREE ad. AFAIK, it's free if you are a member on there still and always has been. It's only £9.99 if you are not registered on PH which is fair really. **edit, just read this Advertising a car When advertising a car you will be able to add up to 9 photos and can write an unlimited amount of text. All adverts are charged at £9.99 and for this you will be able to advertise your car to 4 million potential buyers making PistonHeads the best value place to advertise your vehicle. |

I was of the opinion that your ad is free with up to 3 photos and then charged if you go premium and load 9 photos
