Default Electric window switches

Hi all,

I’m in the process of trying to get all the dash/switch lights working as they should, over the past 17 years I’ve systematically lost almost all of them…

Managed to get the dash switches working again by replacing and soldering LEDs in, next is the window switches which I’m not looking forward to.

On my next days off I’m gonna set too and take apart the switches and solder in some replacement LEDs, I’m just concerned that if I break them I will be stuck.

Does anyone have any of the following switches lying around that I may be able to take off your hands if I break any of mine in the process?

I have found multiple switches online but they all seem to be a slightly different style, even though the part numbers match… I’m assuming it’s maybe just the switch capping that are different but until I get one apart I just don’t know.

Brgds

If those window switches are the same as used on the C3, then you will find it is only the capping that varies and the switches you find online will be compatible.

That’s reassuring to know, many thanks for that. 👌

I noticed a massive difference taking old switchs apart and cleaning up the contact points.

Both electrical windows started working quickly and reliably and my fog light, that I had struggled to get working properly for years, brightened up a treat once I cleaned the switch up.

(Sadly didn't work on headlights)

I have found that later switches are "upside down" they work fine, but look different.
also the designs of each switch were different, so you couldn't just switch them over.

Do the plastic fascia not come off of these so they could be switched over?

Not the ones I got. I think they were £6 each or so, and although they had the same working connections on the rear, they operated upside down and were not physically the same so the tops couldn’t be swapped.

I suppose the wiring could be reversed by pulling them out of the connector and refitting to make them work “properly” but didn’t try it.

EDIT. actually, you just flip the entire switch over in the hole-the wiring gets rotated and it works-but the picture on the switch looks wrong.
