Headliner Cleaning - B2 80
Morning all,
Something I have been wanting to do for years, the headliner in my B2 80 is in dire need of cleaning, I attempted it a little last year on a discreet patch, unfortunately made it look worse... I cannot see a way of removing it due to the windscreen rubbers etc, so I will need to clean it in situ (plus its in great shape apart from 37 years of grub), is there any recommended products or ways you guys have tried and succeeded in cleaning one? Its a light material and flexible, not fabric. Any help or guidance as always much appreciated. |

When I had my old B2 I used just a damp microfibre cloth that had been dipped in soapy water and kept wiping the area until it was clean. Admittedly, my headliner was not very dirty in view of the car's age, no nicotine stains etc., but it had the desired effect...
Otherwise, knock yourself out on what Youtube offers on the subject.. https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...adliner+of+car |

Don’t laugh, but try baby wipes.
They’re generally a blend of detergent and alcohol that’s shift most grime without damaging the surface.

Cheers for the suggestions, I did use a damp cloth last year and all I seemed to do was swirl the dirt around
I mean, its not totally grotty, but could do with a half decent bit of attention, the baby wipes sound an interesting (albeit logical) suggestion - will report back, thanks for that! |

Quick update on this one, after trying numerous and sometimes dubious ways of cleaning the headliner, I found the thing that worked best were the white sponges.
They’re sometimes called magic erasers or white foam sponges etc. but basically they’re made of melamine foam… I got the idea from the guys who used to deep clean our aircraft, it’s quite remarkable how good these things are, highly recommended! |
