Default Cat

Hello everyone.
I have a 97 B4 Cabriolet which is close to failing mot on emissions.
I have changed the lambda sensors so am looking to change the cat on the exhaust.
The market is full of them from £40 to £600 or more.
Is it a case of you get what you pay for and is there a supplier
that you could recommend that is value for money.
Thanks in advance.

The cheap ones have very small surface area, and you'll be lucky to meet emissions with them.
