Wiper aerofoil

Hi everyone.

Anyone got thoughts on what to use to attach an aerofoil (spoiler blade) to the wiper arm?

Mine had never fitted properly and detached twice during my ownership. Turns out it was a Lefthand wiper pattern aerofoil on a Righthand pattern arm.

Correct part awaits fitment after a fresh cost of satin black.

They normally just locate into the hole in the arm, using the tab and two barbs that clip around the arm. I think
The tabs do break with age/fatigue after becoming brittle. In which case- a dollop of the stuff that is used to fix a faulty passenger window on the 100 (just can’t remember the name.)

The tabs are gone but the barbs (around 1"long) are intact which is a good start.
Were you thinking of Araldite?

I’d think that Araldite would be good.
Contact adhesive is too weak and can easily get weathered off, superglue just isn't appropriate as you have to expel all air gaps to get it to work-which is tricky with this setup and plastic on metal.

There was a flexible adhesive which a fella pointed me towards. It’s a 3M product, I think. I used it on the window repair, and its appearance once set is similar to the stuff audi used to stick the roof lining in the V8. Strong, but flexible. I was going to suggest that. But I’m back home now, so I can’t check what’s in the garage.
