Door barrel lock ball joint
Folks,
I don't know its proper name, but my plastic ball/socket joint connector that joins the rear of the front door barrel lock to the pull rod for the central locking motor is wearing away. When I turn my key in the lock it pops off the rear of the barrel lock and thus no central locking. The plastic has worn away within the socket joint after all these years of turning the key. I can't find one anywhere. Any tips on how I can refurbish the socket joint, please? I've heard of using layers of glue to rebuild the ball joint or stuffing layers of plastic into the socket joint to effect a repair...... |

not sure which bit you're referring to.
I may have a spare can you see it in this pic ? If you do stick up a copy and mark the part you're after.

Hello Mike
Looks like a completely different set up to mine. I can't see anything similar. Never mind. I may have figured out a way to re-enforce the bit I have. Thank you for your input, nevertheless.. |
