In other words an exceptionally well looked after car!

To be fair though if I were to change I think i'd stretch to the newer shape 4.2tdi, faster than the old S8 (scary progress!) and yet still able to do mid 40's on a run in lwb guise as I miss not having folding rear seats for my bike so the extra legroom will allow it to sit nicely in the footwell!
Good previous ownership is essential, I bought mine off Duffy on here (he of the rebuilt 90) and it's a good car, although I need to redo the front brakes as they have been crap since I got them, that aside, no ownership pain at all, very pleased!

The new engine tech is mega, I just don't think the D4 looks aggressive enough for me personally and I've always wanted a v10 ha ha

I think this is a keeper, and a future classic

40mpg must be nice though, I've never owned a car that can do that

If we are talking about the old Audis ( from the '80s), I probably already have back then

I was planning on the reduction of the "fleet" and achieved a little success, but when Ken popped the link to the old 100cc Avant, I looked into it a bit and thought "cars like this rarely appear and its relatively close- Taunton area"; I tried to entice Shaun5 into looking /buying, but he said he already had enough Audis so I looked into it a bit more and eventually did buy it.
It's been MOT' less for a couple of years and during that time a few more things have degraded to the point of needing fixing. Getting the correct parts has proved a problem, but I think I now have found the best contact in Berlin for any part for the car. Takes a little longer to get the bits, but so far so good with them as opposed to GSF & Mill Autos whilst Euro Car Parts have nothing available.

Hope to get the MOT done this Friday , altho' it'll be the 4th time its been booked and then parts required have been wrong necessitating a cancellation.

More updates soon.

Think I'm the one to blame, I saw it on C&C within a few hours of it going on and posted the link. Looks a great car, hope you enjoy it

Ah, in that case my apologies and thanks for posting up the Linky.

Looks can be deceiving as indeed sellers can be, but in this instance, the gentleman selling the car was probably one of the most straight law abiding individuals I've ever met. The car is not a disappointment in any way, just this mini struggle to obtain CORRECT replacement parts, as opposed to ones that look correct but don't fit for one reason or another. All will be resolved and revealed soon.....I hope!

If you ever decide to sell I'm sure you'll have a queue!

Used as a daily driver from April to December about 200 miles per week. My other car is a Honda crv cdti that gets little use over this time.

Hi Terry

Going in slightly earlier most mornings now as the mass of paperwork is overwhelming at the moment.
