Shame you had to let it go but eventually reality catches up with all of us. Toyed with the idea of swapping my A5 out for an RS5 and came very close to placing the order but the reality of sub 20mpg on a daily basis finally made me see sense so it's "economical" V6 supercharged little brother went on order instead

Good luck in your search for the ultimate compromise

Thanks Andy,

I have already found and bought my new daily and it's still in the Audi family.

2007 Audi A8 4.2 V8 petrol FSi engine. Cracked over 30mpg on the run home from staffordshire and has soooo many toys including full digital freeview (with video in motion activated).

I'm third owner from new, the first owner had it 7.5 years then his son had it for the last year and now I've got it. 107,000 miles with Audi service history until 88,000 and audi extended warranty until May this year with last service at 105,500!

All in all it cost me a fraction of the RS6 yet I like it far more and being honest I think it sounds better under load (although perhaps it's because you have time to hear the engine and not just the speed warning siren starting up!!)

I'll get some photo's up soon.

Guesses as to how much it set me back!

Stunning car this and doing well making a 2k profit in the RS, I expected the opposite to be true.
