Is it play in the linkage or play between the wiper arm and the linkage?

Just bin your old one,no point pissing around replacing the spindle

I've got a pile of c4 linkages here Craig if you can't find one

I bought a 2.8q the other day for peanuts,lovely car.Only thing wrong with it was this problem

yup, it's between the wiper arm and the next part of the linkage under the windscreen, andy. it's so worn and loose that it can't exert any pressure on the windscreen, hence the shite clearing of water on the screen.

weirdly, the passenger side clears the rain water perfectly!

I would just buy a good used one, or a new one if you are feeling flush.

Hi James,

Looks like I'm in the same boat as Craig with the wipers on my A6. My drivers side wiper is so floppy it's worn away the paint on the A pillar despite me constantly realigning it. Can you PM me with a price for a set of linkages and I'll send you the cash.
