Get the cambelt done asap - a genuine kit inc cambelt, tensioner etc & water pump is £144 (+£45 surcharge for the water pump, which you get refunded); then labour on top unless you can do it yourself. Gives you an excuse to totally flush the cooling system too....
Good mpg!!!!!

Will get a quote from a Vw/audi specialist that charges £30/hr.

Well this was the advert I wrote last week, the car is being picked up saturday by the new owner.

1995 Audi 80 1.9 Tdi Avant

166788 miles
Taxed till end of May
MOTed till the end of February
Tornado Red
Black cloth interior
Front electric windows
Electric mirrors
Electric tilt and slide sunroof
Tow bar
Alloys
Rigid boot liner

I bought the car as a run around back in 2008 (146000 miles on the clock) while rebuilding my quattro turbo. When I finished the rebuild it was sold to a family member who kept it up until this February when I took it off him in exchange for a van.

All I have done is MOT it and replace a split intercooler hose, then decided as I have a van, pick up, 2 cars and a sandrail I can’t justify keeping another car. When I bought the car the previous owner hadn’t kept a service record since 1998! So I had the car serviced, including cam belt and water pump.

In the last 18-24 months the following items have been replaced

Shock absorbers all round
Tyres all round
Discs and pads all round
Complete exhaust system including catalyst
Strut top mounts
Rear wheel bearing
Intercooler hose
Bosch silver battery
Air flow meter

The body work is in very good condition and the interior is good as well.

£800 ono

Thanks John, if I didn't have my Mitsubishi Sapporo I would have been tempted to keep it as a run around.

Cheers Andy

Mark,

This is the only pic I've got in the work pc. 1980 sapporo 2.0 GSR, never lets me down. It's having the head flowed and flywheel lightened soon, been collecting up go faster bits for it. I've managed to find an original Colt Sport sidedraught manifold for it so just need a pair of 45's and I'm looking for a tubular manifold and a different cam.

Cheer Andy
