my carbon canister ticks ( and I took have sound deadening on the bonnet ) but I doubt it could physically tick that loud. Use a screw driver and listen on the top of the engine. If its the vacuume booster it will sound like theres a small nut flying around inside the rocker that gets faster as the engine is reved.
