Tyres are Toyo R888's, 235x50x15 on 9" Minilite wheels.

A nice big footprint, and with the 1" spacers, a nice wide track .

Wiscombe Park hillclimb this weekend (near Seaton, east Devon).

Pot luck on the weather I think, one forecast I looked at said fine and sunny, the other said pee-ing with rain .

The weekend at Wiscombe started damp from some overnight rain and the track was very slippery having been used on the previous weekend by the VSCC (Vintage Sports Cars), who may have left behind a drop or two of oil.

My first run (which should have been a leisurely practice), got a bit messy after loosing the back end through the unexpectedly slippery esses, managing to collect it back together and stopping before the tyre barrier on the hairpin with a few inches to spare!
On the way back down all the marshalls stationed on the hairpin lined up and wiped their brows in unison at me .

After scaring myself, I managed a decent enough time in the afternoon to receive a trophy for second place.

On Sunday the times improved (apart from the brief afternoon shower) and I managed to smash my previous best time of 44.49 with a 44.48 . It's a step in the right direction I suppose.
It was good enough to take second again, but with fewer in the class there was only a first place trophy .

There were a couple of S5's entered on the second day. They both had superchargers fitted and were pushing out over 600 horsepower!!!
Their quickest time was 46.29, so the Classic Audi was nearly 2 seconds quicker .

Glad you came out of the slither & slide unscathed with just brown pants
The newer S5's might have 600 horses but they also weigh over 500Kg more than yours.
Drove a 2TDi version that we had for a pool car at work and not impressed. Great for sitting on the motorway but that's it.
Look forward to further updates

Yeah, loads !!

My wife takes the pictures and my double driver's other half gets busy with the video camera.

I'll try and splice some together and upload it .

Just google mapped it....... 482 miles, 7 and 1/2 hours, probably add at least another couple of hours with the trailer on the back. Maybe not then .
