Right then, we seem to be all sorted for the Sunseeker Rally based in Bournemouth next weekend (27/02/10).

It’s turned out to be a gathering of quattro rally recreations (whatever the collective noun is) for demonstration runs on the spectator stage at Somerly Park.

For any of you who might want to come along we will be there from about 9.00 with the cars on display at the “Motorfair”. As part of the main spectator stage, the Motorfair has commentary, toilets, catering, hospitality, classic car display, display of Richard Burns Cars, simulators, plus fun fair and farmers market.

After the morning run of the rally stage through Somerly park (starting at 10.40), we will be lining up to do demonstration runs along a short tarmac section of the stage in front of the house which forms part of the main rally stage. We are hoping to do half a dozen passes and will be joined by 4 classic Lancias.

We are lucky enough to have 8 quattros converging on Dorset next weekend. Including Ian Simmonds and Derek Forbes coupe quattros, Ray Read and Tony Hawkin’s A1s, Andy Krinks with his sport, my group 4, and Adam Marsden will be bringing both his group 4 and A1.

There will be a second run of the rally proper in the afternoon at 3.30.

In addition, my rallyrep will be on display with a V10 R8 on Poole Quay for the ceremonial start on Friday evening.
