There's an utterly harmless old fella who whenever he passes the driveway (the UK address, that is)*, insists on talking cars. I'm obviously interested in cars, and he has an Almera, or some other piece of crap that I wish they'd never made. And he always pronounces Audi as 'Ordee'

I go all Patrick Bateman.

I used to use a mechanic about 10 years ago (and he was past retirement at that time...) He always used to pronounce Audi like that! Made me wince inwardly but smile politely outwardly!!

My 2.2E was called many things, mostly four letters and unprintable, but for some reason i stuck with her till the bitter end! (Probably something to do with the big scorpion exhaust) For want of a better name my 90q is called Holly as the reg ends HOL and she is far better behaved...! Hope thats not about to change now Ive said that...

My mother used to work in an AA call centre in Erskine when I was a kid and supposedly one of the women sent a van out to a ' noddy' car.

Some interesting names here guys...
Not had time to read up on all of the comments properly yet, but 'beast' seems to appear among a lot of the names; must be a male thing?

Cars, plane, boats; traditionally 'female' conveyances*

*(I was going to say vessels, but let's not go there)

Whereas the word 'beast' is generally used in a male context.

So female conveyance, male name,
