Aye I wasn't 'too sure' about the Coupe either lol, but as it was an Audi it deserved a pic, but as you say... tastes differ!

Some nice looking cars there, loving the 90 Sports, think that's the first time I've seen a picture of yours, looks a beauty, and the alpine white Jetta TX, I had one identical back in me VAG days G626JWY if I remember correctly and that one's from Yorkshire too, with its "CX" number plate but not Massingberd's

Was good to meet you Den.

That Jetta really was immaculate. Only 21k miles from new.

Well... I scarcely believe myself what car, out of all the immaculately presented, impressively modified cars (and even the likes of the lovely very original 21k mile Jetta) won car of the show.

Sadly I am.

Well the judges, this is where it gets interesting. The winner was possibly the brother/relation of one of the organisers! I'm told that participants were taken aback when the winner was announced... unsurprisingly.

Just makes a whole mockery of the event in my opinion.

Looking good. I could have made this as I got the 90 MOTed on Saturday but the alignment needs done n didn't wanna wreck the tyres driving to bigger.

What's wrong with the coupe? Looks OK to me.

I thoroughly enjoyed it & I liked having a kinda show worthy(ish) car there too Ah that's a shame, would've been good to see some Type 85 presence there, such a rare breed now Still I'd have done the same as you & waited till the car was right for driving!

Hmm, well as John says, each to their own

Don't get me wrong, the Coupe was truly immaculate, however to my eyes the wheels were naff, it needed lowered, the colour coding is naff, the repeater lights had been replaced with naff Sportline badges & it just wasn't a patch on some of the amazing metal that turned up.

The fact that 'everyone' was like WTF when it was announced winner, kinda gives the game away.

Aye, it looks a nice car but while I didn't get to this show, I've been before and there's some seriously NICE machines on display.
