I'm sorry but if you think everything either side is putting out is 'factual' you are being disingenuous or naive.

Ben you obviously have a problem with me,this first started on another thread about some Audi or other where you pooh poohed my opinion or the 15 years experience of it in a very of the cuff manor like your somehow superior, from recollection about a year ago.It might have been about an 2.6 Audi,i can't remember of the top of my head which thread.I didn't like your attitude then nor do i now.And this is despite me being very complimentary to your photos of your car but nothing ever comes back, that's life some people are more friendly than others. You don't seam to like what i have to say. That's fine by me but please be reminded there's no need to be damn right rude about it. As for your accusation i .. " you make stuff up as you go along, which devalues everything you say." that comment of yours is an extremely high minded pompous statement from you and totally over the top but not surprising as far as i'm concerned. How very wrong you are!!!! I'll bid you Good day again and politely ask you to leave it. |

Here's some facts: Millions of people already in this country are on the waiting list for social housing. They may be 'sofa surfing', living with Mum & Dad or slumming it in emergency accommodation. Whatever their circumstances they are in need of a home.
Yet we are allowing, either through bad immigration policy or by virtue of the fact the EU force us to take, a million more people into this country every three years. Can someone, preferably a 'Remainian' explain where these immigrants are going to live? Just saying 'We need to build more houses' isn't an answer. It would take years to clear the backlog yet the problem is here and now! Migrants are falling into the grasp of gangmasters who shove them into slum accommodation, twenty five to a house or into damp windowless garages and charge them a fortune in rent. This needs to be stopped. If anyone is stupid enough to believe Cameron and his Remain stooges that any of this is solvable or a price worth paying then you seriously need your head felt! The only way is to leave the EU, clear out all the pro-EU politicians and have pro-UK leaders to put us first. Migration can be controlled by only accepting applications from those who are of practical use to this country. Alan |

Good thread up 'til now, healthy debate and interesting views on both sides but please don't start getting too personal and start mud slinging etc.
Thank you |

As a side thought, I wonder when the building of houses for people to live in will take over the farm-land that will provide the crops to feed the people ? Is the point of no return near ? And I wonder when a politician will stand up and say "there's too many people?" ![]() |

![]() ![]() Seriously though, Mark the passion in your posts is comensurate with the seriousness of the issue - I for one have agreed with a lot of the perspective in your posts. I hope there is a big turn out on the day and lots of people vote. Quote:
It always bothers me when I hear it, especially in the context of building new homes. Firstly, I live in quite a built up area already, theres plenty of brownfield sites to use, no need to eat into the other 90% which I like to visit, appreciate the scenery, and as you quite rightly say - is used for farming! Secondly, if we are building more homes so that more and more people can move here, or buy up as investments for that matter, I dont think any of that helps solve the housing shortage / house prices!! ![]() Would anyone want to live in a Britain where even 25% of the land was built on?! I dont think so... Last edited by Mellis46; 06-06-16 at 06:21 PM. |

I have it on good authority that the Bank of England unofficially believes that after some initial hiccups due to uncertainty following a vote to leave the EU, Britain's economy will settle down and prosper.
If the economic arguments are more important to you than the constitutional ones, then I hope the above helps you in your decision. No one really knows what would happen after a leave vote as this is all unknown territory for the 'experts', so that leaves the question of constitutional sovereignty. Arguments will rage over the proportion of our laws being imposed by the EU, but there is no doubt that EU inspired laws are increasingly finding their way into our lives. Yes, many are quite good, others not, but they all have one thing in common... they remove our Parliament's ability to govern. For example, our government cannot reduce VAT on energy bills below below 5% or abolish it without EU permission. What was once possible by a simple announcement by the Chancellor has become a political/legal thorn in the side. If this is what we have after 40 years of EEC/EU membership, completely different from what was envisaged at the beginning, just stop and think of what the next 40 years can bring. Remember, politicians change, the world changes, guarantees can be given or revoked. Whatever you vote, go with your conscience, because if it all gets worse, at least no one can blame themselves for doing what they thought was the right thing.....
