What about some kind of grand Borders tour, start at Carlisle, taking the old road along Hadrian's Wall, then NE towards Kielder, over to the Northumberland coast at Seahouses/Bamburgh/Lindisfarne - for the tidal causeway, then inland to Coldstream/Galashiels/Selkirk & a blast down the A7. It could be vaguely central for most (except Mark - sorry Mate) Just a thought...
