Default Protection for new paint job

I should be getting my quattro back this weekend with a shiny new two-pack paint job. Can anyone recommend a paint protector product? I know there's no substitute for doing a bit of work, but I live down a farm road where the car gets coated in mud or dust every day, even when it's parked up. All advice/information welcome.

cheers
Matt

coat under side with a protective chip resistant coat, something like that oil wax stuff. Looks like fresh bitumen tar.

try and put it where its not covered in dust, shite etc if possible.

The underside should be coated when I get it but I'll check.

Car is parked off the road but very close... unfortunately road is unsurfaced so dust is a permanent feature in the dry, and I've had a couple of paint chips in the past from stones thrown up by the horsey set's 4x4s.

What products are best for new paint?

Check into it,but i think you have to leave the paint to cure before you treat it.It could be weeks?

If it's straight out of the paint shop and has a good finish to it and has already been mopped then you shouldn't need to polish it at all.
2 sorts of protectant.

Easiest is probably applying a coat of wax, then keep up a regular wash routine and top up the wax say every 4-6 weeks.
Other is using a product such as Zaino which is polymer based as opposed to natural wax based.

Hiya guys. Thanks for your replies, I will be bearing them all in mind. However, a friend at work has introduced me to a very good valeter/detailer, who came all the way from Yeovil this morning for a look at the job. He is going to do some mintor finishing and protect it with car-lack at about 1/3 of the price of a main dealer. He brought me some photos of his work and we had a very long conversation about paint and products :¬))) He is full of enthusiasm and I am convinced he takes enormous pride in his work, so I am looking forward to seeing the final result, and hopefully showing it off at ADI if there is room for me.

If its parked up on a farm and you've spent all that time and money on the paintwork then but a cover for her asweell. That will keep the dust off when standing. Mine sits in the garage for weeks at a time and still gets dust on her.

I bought a cover from Argos to do until the paint protection is applied, but I can't use it as it says not to put on paintwork less than 4 month old. After the treatment, it won't be sitting around that much because I use it most days.

I used to have a really good, soft cover which would probably have done, but it's a bit nackered after 3+ years on a mate's scooby...
