Steering/Ignition lock removal- C3/4/D11
How does one get it out?
I have the whole steering lock assembly moved from the car (the storage company lost the keys!) Now, I want to remove the lock itself, and go about deciphering the code to make a new key if I can. Changing the coding of the door locks is pretty simple, but the car is tucked away in storage, while the lock is on the garage bench. I’m guessing that I recode the ignition lock in a similar manner as the door locks. But annoyingly, the boot lock is set to remain locked independent of the central locking. Getting the boot open will be a pain without the key. So, if you any of you have removed a type 44/c4/V8 lock, changed the coding, I’ll be grateful for the info…

A tooled-up auto locksmith will be able to cut a key to suit without disassembly/VIN etc.

As it turns out, there is a diagram in the manual. Hidden under External Lights of all places.
I'll give it a shot tomorrow. The idea of calling a local locksmith is not so appealing. I can tinker with this of a spare evening, and these days I try not to rely on calling anyone as they hardly ever turn up!
