100 quattro A68 at Jedburgh

Spotted an L-reg 100 quattro saloon today, south bound at Jedburgh on A68.

Gave it the "halogen message" and

. Driver looked a bit bemused !!

When you’re 89 and bought your Panzer Tank with your 1993 retirement lump sum, the concept of it being a classic in your lifetime and moreover some enthusiastic loon ‘flashing you’ in deepest darkest Roxburghshire is probably a bit much….

Oh boy do I know. I drove the S2 up and down the B743 (fantastic road south to Muirkirk) many a time when I was working at Polmadie (circa 2005 to 2008) and stayed at Strathaven. At one point we actually had two cars in Scotland and one in Sussex we were up there so often. Our Border Collie came from a hill farm in Lanark and we are still in contact with friends we met all those years ago up there. I do miss the Southern Uploads. Fantastic roads and fantastic memories with fantastic people.
