My old Coupe quattro for sale

I sold my Coupe quattro about a month ago to a local chap as a non-runner.

Now it's cropped up on eBay all fixed and looking very nice.

What's your opinion on the price?

Is he rather optimistic? Or have I missed a trick and should have fixed it up myself?

If anyone is genuinely interested - I owned it for 17 years until last month! So feel free to ask about it.

I am hopeful he gets that price as one day I will want to sell mine, and given my cars outlay, restoration costs and the work involved I think I am close to £5k. Alas my car has a non existent service history so I am having to do as much as possible to it to show it's been done in the event I sell. (Though at the moment the noise when it's driven makes it far to addictive to even contemplate selling it.)

It was an ignition problem. No spark. It absolutely refused to start.

I threw £500 at it when it was starting intermittently and the problem only got worse, as above. It had a new starter motor, new HT leads, spark plugs, rotor arm and we tried swapping out the starter relay but that didn't help either. Anyway, I got fed up with it and this local chap, who's son owns a UR quattro, offered reasonable money for it as a non-runner, so I parted with it. I may live to regret that decision!

I think in the end the starting issue was a module in the dash which was not distributing power correctly. I guess the new owner has sorted it out because it went down to the MOT centre the other day - presumably under its own power!

Shame you couldn't get to the bottom of it, that looks nice, and your loss seems to be that chaps gain. Such is life..

Saw this last week and I knew I'd seen it somewhere before - you were on our stand at Audi's in the Park 2015.

Yep, that was me at AITP 2015.

I was pleased when it sold to a local as I thought I'd be seeing it around. But it could end up in Wick now for all I know

Hopefully it will go to a good home, and preferably to someone who attends Classic Audi meets so I can catch up with it again!
