oh what, you mean like a tory party that got elected on less than 25% of the eligible voting population, a german monarch and an unelected house of Lords??

Yep democracy is alive and kicking in Great Britain

I'm pleased that this, a motoring forum, has allowed this thread. For several months now another forum of which I am a member (Mustang Owners Club) has banned this type of thread as it might be 'racist' or whatever.

I hope this thread continues in a meaningful and constructive manner.

Problem is no one really knows what a true racist look like these days...
Eg. people say racists target muslims... Well, being muslim is NOT a race, it is a description of the followors of Islam and they can be white, black, yellow or red(?)... And by the way... Islam is NOT a religion, it's an ideology. Go figure

Well Martyn, by making it clear that you dont/do wish to be subject to rule of brussels law of course.
The big issue for me is that the millions of people who voted the other way then have to be dictated to by those who do get their way.
For me, Id like to see the Uk go two ways, 1) for those who want brussels to run their existence, they can opt into that system of governance, paying their taxes to the EU and being entirely subjected to their laws.
2) For those who wish to be governed entirely by our elected representatives and by laws made here then an opt in to that system should be made available.
Making one side or the other subject to the decision of a small majority isnt democratic, in the slightest.
If 49% want out and 50% want in thats almost half the population dont want to be dictated to by brussels, its not right to force it on the nearly equal numbers is it?

Me Im voting in and out and dont know....
