Been keeping an eye on this one too, one bid so far:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/17194...508&rmvSB=true The colour /trim combination is perhaps a little dated now, wouldn't put me off though ![]() Last edited by lefthooker; 29-09-15 at 04:08 PM. |

It is my favourite colour/combo for a pre facelift A8 as per the 'Ronin' S8.
Alloys apart, I prefer the A8 Sport to the S8, less hardcore in what is at the end of the day still a big luxury car. Not many early A8s about, they seemed to have become really thin on the ground since I had mine in 2012. A friend of mine has a current shape A8 in black, and as nice as it is, it doesn't do anything for me. A current shape Jaguar XJ has far more presence. The D2 A8s, especially the facelift ones, are nice cars. Mine was lovely when it wasn't throwing up stupid/expensive faults. |

Get really tempted by one of these but I don't think I could stomach/justify the running costs ....., mind you petrol is far nicer for the world nowadays , so I'd be doing my bit to help towards global warming
![]() Do you rate the 2.8q sport Ken ?, might be a decent compromise ?

They do suffer from surprisingly common faults, aside from the usual gearbox gremlins. I was unlucky with mine, I think. Mine was very unreliable, despite a good service history etc. There are some absolute shitters out there, though. ![]() |

I've had 2 of the D2s. An S8 and a 3.7.
A lot of them are more in parts now. Shame as they drive so well

I've had 2 D2 S8's a D3 S8 and am about to go to a D4 S8.
The only one my wife ever goes on about was the facelift D2, they are great cars and easily converted to LPG. I'd have another as a toy. |

D2 A/S8 facelift all the way for me, it just has that class exec look that all others since have lacked. Saw a beauty in dark blue near where I live last week and it just had a presence on the road that no other car has. I've been talking about getting one for a few years now but everytime I bring it up herself says 'I think you should, but you'll have to get rid of the 200'. Ehhhhhhhhh... no, I'm being buried in that car!
