I didn't think the road going versions got an alloy block?

Road going ones did get the alloy KW block some were replaced with iron ones if they failed, Roger galvins sport still has the alloy block

I thought it was the early WR with the alloy block originally, being recall/replaced with steel blocks, while the KW was always an alloy engine, along with slightly lower capacity.

Some 1983 cars came with the alloy block, only few I know of are Y reg. hopefully next month I'll have some pics.

There definitely is iron KW engines around though, Infact I think Roger Galvin has one as a spare?
