Default The sound of an old car stereo..

I might be weird but the old stereo in the 100 daily makes music sound old, old in a good way! Dunno what it is, but is takes you away somewhere. the bose thing in the allroad is all very nice and amazing but it's just tooo clear and crisp and digital. The old stereo in the 100 reminds me of my dad playing us song on the old Hacker record player, it was a combo all in one thing with a speaker on the front. Nice muffled kind of bass sound, hmm..

This song came on the radio driving home on saturday night, never heard it before, had it loud as hell, sun setting driving down the coast, on my own. T'was very atmospheric.

Didn't help it was in Icelandic though! Maybe that's why it took me away somewhere.

I'm sorry but ......... The sound of old car stereos just sound c*** to me. If I could get the OEM look with a high end sound then I would be happy....

Late 80's to early 90's alpine for me. This new crap can't get near it with sound quality. Digital opt out put even in late 80's

Alpine indeedee! Don't have one of them. it's an early 1990s pioneer, with pioneer speakers in the back and original speakers in the front. Was in the car when I got it. Crap, but it makes music sound like you remember it, if you know what I mean. Probably not how it was intended to sound when it was recorded, but how it sounded years ago, on old equipment.

First experience of an alpine was in an uno turbo abarth, doing a bit above the speed limit ( not me driving, I don't do that..), listening to deep purple child in time, a live version. Some sound!
