Default Audi 80 B3/B4

Hi all, i'm looking for my first Audi and i've decided on an 80 but im having a hard time finding one. I will consider anything under 2.0, so a 1.8 petrol or 1.9tdi would be great.

I'm looking for a nice, tidy unmolested car. White or red is preferred but i will consider anything.

Not a fan of estates so saloon only.

local would be nice (sunderland) but i am willing to travel for the right car.

please let me know what you have and pictures would be nice, i will get back to you ASAP

cheers

Well, something below 2.0 gives you the choice between 1.9 tractor engine or 1.6 sewing machine in B4 or even worse 1.6 tractor engine, inefficient 1.8 carb engine and 1.8 fuel injected engines, which still are inferior to 2.0, in B3. What is the reason for this requirement - insurance?

I'm guessing from your username that you'd be around the 18 mark, so you're looking to keep insurance costs down?

I'd recommend a B4 80 TDI, the 1Z is a reliable engine, and will return great MPG. Your mates might take the piss something rotten mind!

When I started driving, I often used my old man's 80 TDI avant, and felt like I was king of the road haha!

I can't imagine insurance being too bad on these.

A B3 1.8E would be my choice but if you need more boot space then a B4 1.6 SE is not that bad.

Good luck in your search

yeah im 18 and insurance is an issue, saying that my renewal this year was 1/3 of the price of my first year thankfully

there's a nice A4 b5 local to me for £530, its immaculate and great for the price but 23mpg urban put me off, plus its not an 80.

most of my mates drive the older VAG stuff so i'll fit right in currently got a MK2 fiesta at the moment but i want something a bit more refined.

i think TDI is definitely the way to go for what i want

sorry that you just missed the sale of my reliable old 80 tdi by a few weeks. the diesel is a not a fast car, as msh says but it has fabulous fuel consumption as a bonus.

oh and you'll find lots of nice examples for well under a grand. dodge the ones with the rusty front wheel arches..you'll find them mostly in the north!!
