Default NG ticking under slight load

Hi, back with an issue that's not huge as such just a bit irritating .... I get a ticking not so noticable on very light throttle but mid throttle is quite 'tickety' 160k is it a cracked manifold or tappet clearences ...... Manifold looks like a sod to remove

Might be as simple as a loose gasket/broken stud.

On the NG, it can also be the vacuum pump which can tick

Well it doesn't sound like knocking, not noticable at idle but drive it and its apparent , I can't hear it at wot but the stainless exhaust plus holey airbox / panel filter make a better kind of noise I would have said piston ring possibly , compression seems ok a slight dip on the piston at front of the engine but according to Haynes its within tolerance . Runs ok starts ok idles fine... Sooooo dunno il investigate the manifold I think at some stage !

I don't get it - why do you want to remove manifolds - are they so loose that they are rattling against the engine?

If seriously, leave the manifolds in place, if you don't want to make problems where they aren't, as manifold removal has quite a big chance of getting the threads out of the stud holes. What is in idle - is there any thicking? Does it idles well?

Btw, how much is the compression?

Well, I am purely assuming its from a crack in the manifold so may have to remove.... I won't until I find out for sure where its coming from im open to suggestions the compressions from bulk head forward are as follows (in bar) 12.2 13.1. 12.8 13.0. 10.6....according to Haynes max difference between cylinders is 3 bar
