Any news on Sunseeker Tim? Are they going to either a) calm down the demo run surface or b) expect the demo cars to man-up to full gravel spec? Just need to budget in the titanium strengthening reguired to survive another onslought...

The newer S5's might have 600 horses but they also weigh over 500Kg more than yours.
Drove a 2TDi version that we had for a pool car at work and not impressed. Great for sitting on the motorway but that's it.
Look forward to further updates
Pants are all clean again now .

Their 600hp/1750kg against our 330hp/1150kg gives them a power to weight ratio of 342 against our lowly 286.
They would kick our behinds in a drag race, but as you say, they are big lumps to stop and get around the twisty bits!

No nothing yet Ian, probably a bit early TBH.
There's likely to be organisational changes with the relocation of the base to Poole from Bournemouth, but I think that will only be formalities. Somerly Park is still mentioned as the main spectator stage, so expect pretty much the same.

What will the titanium strengthening be, a plate for your arse?

Just off to bed, got the usual early 5.00 start for a sprint at Castle Combe tomorrow .
Hope the rain blows through over night.

I see Keith Murray is on the start list with his 80 as well.

To everyone's surprise the rain didn't really persist and by lunchtime and end of practice it was pretty much dry.
Not before Andy did a bit of grass tracking at Quarry corner! Fortunately his oversteer moment sent him heading off into the in field where there is lots of run off.

We had our own little "quattro corner" in the paddock, with Kieth Murray and Neils 20v conversion.

Keith won his class (obvioulsy) , and we had a quattro 1,2,3 in ours .

It was good to see Keiths car go properly, the snow in March didn't really provide ideal conditions. It is awesomely quick.
Our car is no slouch, but as you can see, an extra 100 or so horsepower, 300 less kilos, slick tyres (and probably a better driver) is worth about six and a half seconds around a lap of Castle Combe.
