They need all the Eastern Europeans to go there; that way within 48hrs they would be expert in getting free health care, massive benefit payments, preferential treatment for housing and an apparant obligation never to have car insurance or a valid licence! Power to the people!

True.

The Czechs and the Poles I have met have been the loveliest hard working people.

Us lot would rather sit and watch Jeremy Kyle rather than stack shelves.

Economically at least, they have too much too lose. The west buys most of what they produce and they won't want to lose that. The people of China won't want to lose that either now that they have had a taste of capitalism. To quote another musician, Frank Zappa once said "communism doesn't work 'cos people want stuff"

How long you been a fan of Peppa Pig?
It's probably a bit of a catch 22 situation as the west now relies too much on importing goods from China and it would hurt too many US companies if they couldn't import from the Far East especially with the likes of Apple!
Do Korea actually realise how powerful the US are or has communism meant most of the country's population are totally unaware that if they do get involved (which they will because let's face it, they like to get involved wherever it is) that the US could probably clean up within a week or 2.
Do Britain need to get involved? Probably not, but will we and we will see more troops needlessly lose their lives as the result of another stupid war, quite possibly.

I reckon, just ignore the whole thing and hope it goes away!!

It wont go away tho Al, you know how it is, its the same as school.
Bully does what bullys do until someone turns around and drops the nut on em, its no different here just larger scale with more damage.
Sames as trying to negotiate with religious mentalcases in afghanistan, you cant, theyre not listening, dont want to hear you and just want to do what they want, to anyone when they want to.

Unfortunately history reminds us of the folly of hoping it will go away...ww2 for example.
Sometimes the only method that will work is force and lots of it applied liberally.
Not saying its morally right but turning a blind eye and cocking a deaf uns no solution either.....besides i dont think i want the tombliboo army running amok across the planet all trying on each other trousers and shouting "tombliboo tombliboo!" at everyone... Ya just have to fight against that kind of insanity.

I have just one question I must have answered before I comment any further...

If they take over the world, do we get more Ninky-Nonks?

Re the cement about the Eastern Europeansdoing the jobs we don't want to do', my brother on law works as a transport manager within NHS Direct medical supplies; they have a recruitment agency that work just for them, who have been given an office within their premises who will only take on Eastern Europeans. Go figure THAT one (and no, they don't condider any white Anglo Saxons etc)

It is discrimination but as brother in law says, who is brave enough to raise their head above the parapet and complain?
He says they are getting agency drivers who can't speak English which is amusing as amongst other places they visit are HMP's and RAF bases which require understanding of security questions.
Oh well, welcome to the People's Republic of Eastern Europe, Annex of GB

Ditto, some of our friends are Romanian, my little girl's best friend is Romanian. They come here and work their ass off to make a better life for themselves and their families because it is not possible to do this at home, their counrty is 'broken', their own words, not mine. The legacy that befalls most former soviet block countries.

Absolutely no worse than the millions of Brits who run off to 'better' places, like USA, Canada, Australia, NZ etc. no different whatsoever.

If this country becomes any more broken than it already is, I'll be doing the same thing and if the good old 'Brits' were any good at doing a day's work there would be no jobs to come to, from Europe.

We are a spoiled lazy nation, you don't want to hear some of the stories I've heard about growing up and being a child, in Romania.
