Would be a nice save - shame it is miles away and would cost a fortune to transport it back

It's a holder for the service book.

Do you not have them on that side of the pond?

Only 87K on the ticker, and it's a nice color.
Somebody over there save this car!

I really like it too but have come to the conclusion I need to sell my beach buggy first. Shame.

I've been emailing the seller through ebay and here is some more info:

The steering works but the garage have reported the thieves bent the inner steering column when prising off the ignition barrel. The garage owner is happy for it to be driven away as long as a disclaimer is signed to say that this is understood. When I turned the wheel on Saturday it turns about 1cm off centre.
The ignition switch is physically damaged as you can see in the photos but it still works. The ignition can be operated with a pair of pliers or the barrel can be slotted back onto the broken ignition switch to start the car with the key. The plastic housing is missing too.

I will ask the garage what their fee is to keep the car longer tomorrow morning when I take more photos. At the moment the Garage will keep it until 5pm Tuesday evening, by which point it must be collected or else it will be taken to salvage.

Thanks Will. yep photos of the seats, plus the bad bits of bodywork you mentioned please.
Also does the steering and ignition work fine, just the plastic housing was damaged?
Finally, would the garage keep the car until Saturday for me?
THanks
Matt

I put the seat covers on about 3 years ago as the drivers side edge of the seat base had worn down to foam on the door side. I can't remember what the rest of the seats are like - best thing I can do is go to the garage tomorrow morning, take the covers off and photo them all.

If anyone wants photos of anything else, let me know before then.

There is a small patch of rust in front of the offside rear wheel arch as per the pictures. There are a few small dents: offside below rear window, bonnet front, nearside door beneath window. Scratches: boot, drivers side door, drivers side front wing + scuffs to roof and bonnet. The scratches to the drivers side + boot were done by kids with a key, the rest is just general wear and tear.

hi
do the seats have lots of wear underneath those covers, or are they ok?
Also is there any rust or are there any dents on the panels?
