John,

Although I haven't had a classic Audi for a year now, yeah i miss them still, there are a few things i come back and read looking for progress. This is one, its been a long time in the making and an utter joy to watch you actually pull this off. Of all the enthusiasts out there, there are a small handful who can do special things, you are in that elite of inspirational people for the rest of us, 10/10 for for following your dreams and actually building this. I applaud you...

... now when can i have a passenger run!

Are you home Iain? I thought you'd emigrated!!

I recall once I offered you my S2 to go to Crieff as you didn't have a car. Well, Crieff is on again in less than two weeks (http://www.crieffaudimeet.co.uk) and while I no longer have an S2 to spare for you (the drivetrain is in the rally car), I'm sure you'd be welcome to come along to Crieff in whatever you have as a chariot and, you never know.....

Drove the rally car 100 miles this morning (over the mountain roads) back up to the workshop where it is now going to be finished and made ready for the forests. First thing to do was get the Ronals off and get the Fuchs on with their new forest tyres. Another 'first' today was I got to hear what it sounds like on the road from the sidelines as I asked Kris (mechanic) to give it some beans whilst I stood at the side of the road. WOW!!

Despite the 20v, I'm very pleased to say it sounds every bit as good as an 80's works car (if not better!) and the assault on the senses when you see it coming towards you in anger, with that fabulous noise, is frankly awesome!

Next outing for the car is to put in an appearance in at the qOC AGM.

The tie-bars for the wishbones have now been relocated to the correct positions and the car is (finally) ready for it's first outing.

At the front:

At the rear:

Oh, and a brand new RS2 gearbox fitted too:

Picked the car up today and drove 100 miles home so it's ready for a trek to Oulton Park and the Welsh forests this weekend.
